Dinner in Elkford

After a stressful (for me!) day when JP's satellite tracking spot wasn't work, I've heard from him and all is well.  The spot is fixed somehow.  He's having dinner in Elkford with Tom, Ray and some others.  He reports that he was in the lead for a little while.  (gulp!!)

*sigh* Now I think I can eat dinner.  Was too worried before!

  2. I got home from Ft Worth and got online to checkout the spot and it hadn't moved for like 4 hours! I was kind of hoping that you had been so into silly hats that you hadn't checked in lately! I am not exagerrating at all when I started begging God to make his fit move! I knew it could be a spot tracker issue, but I kept thinking of everything else it could be!!! (perhaps I need to be medicated while dot following -lol!). I walked the dogs and came straight to the computer and JP has gone from 57th to 7th and 44 miles while I was walking the dogs;-)!!!l Let's just say, this is NOT your grandfather's dot race - hehe!!! I am SO THANKFUL all is well!!!!

  4. I watched and had the same thoughts. I had seen #3 and numbers in the 40s and that 4 hour-plus time span. But, knowing JP, I had confidence he would be in Elkford on schedule (or we would sure know why not :). Hooray for this Happy Day for our Two, now Three Wanderers!!

  5. Elizabeth, I thought about you when I saw that the tracking hadn't moved for almost 5 hours. I remember you said you guys had trouble with the first spot you had, so I was thinking that was the case.

JP - so happy to see the the tremendous result of your first day on the tour. Good night's sleep and on to a terrific second day tomorrow!

  6. I figured it was either the spot or yet another failure with his replacement bike frame. He knows what he's doing, so no need to worry!

  7. Umm, just gotta say, 4 months later, that I don't remember thinking I was in the lead ever, and I know I never was. But I do remember counting tire tracks a few hours into day 1 and only suspecting one or two or three sets, wondering WTH I was doing at the front of the race. I had a great first day and was in a bit of a rush to get a room in Elkford before the pack arrived!
